Siargao Island has one of the most diverse tourist offerings in the Philippines. You can go camping, especially beach camping, here. While there may be limited options for campsites in Siargao Island that are not full-pledged hotel-resort accommodations, there are dedicated campgrounds to choose from. Camp in style on these sites.
Campsites on Siargao Island
1) Soultribe Beach Retreat
Soultribe Beach Retreat is actually a yoga lodge, although it also offers surf-related services and activities. Considered a top tourist destination in Mindanao, Soultribe’s main feature is its glamping accommodations. Guests can stay here or inside one of its beachside cabanas. Regardless of where you stay, you will be endowed with a magnificent view of the lush greeneries.
The cabanas are air-conditioned and have a private veranda and outdoor bathroom. The verandas are fitted with a hammock and loveseats. On the other hand, the glamping tents are an experience of their own. They are built with a traditional nipa canopy and deck overlooking the abundant coconut trees. Each tent has a queen-sized bed and all the essentials one will need — from bathrobes to mosquito nets.
Soultribe offers stand-up paddling and kite surfing, other than yoga and surfing. Going to specific spots in Siargao can also be arranged in advance. You can go on an island hopping adventure if you like!
There is an in-house resto called Khaya. It serves organic, healthy meals and refreshing cocktails. The diner uses locally sourced ingredients to help the farmers.
2) Punta Punta Surf Retreat
Punta Punta Surf Retreat is also a seaside campsite in Siargao, with 45 square feet of glamping areas overlooking the ocean. The king-sized beds at each glamping tent face the waters while palm and coconut trees peaking the open sky bath and shower area. There is a private balcony and pool access from your glamping tent.
Punta Punta offers surf lessons and packages. Some on-call teachers cater to all skill levels. They can also take you to the best surfing spots in this part of Siargao.
3) Canijugan Peak Retreat and Campsite
Canijugan Peak Retreat and Campsite is one of the newest campsites on Siargao Island. It offers a unique dining experience because you will eat in a wooden picnic-style area overlooking the mountain range and surrounding greeneries. Canijugan is known for its kawa hot bath, bed swings, and view decks that can be used to relax, reflect, and reconnect with nature.
Canjugan is actually a retreat house, but it features a camping area on its premises. There are available tents for rent that can be pitched on a site surrounded by pristine nature. A bonfire can be prepared at night.
The campsite has an in-house restaurant for your dining needs. But, of course, there are many restaurants in Siargao to explore besides Canijugan’s.
4) Amihan Bungalows
Amihan Bungalows features air-conditioned guesthouses with a private bathroom and a terrace or balcony with a garden view. This is not a campsite, although you can always bring your tent and pitch it in the vast garden or near the beach.
Amihan, and the other campsites on this list, offer unparalleled seclusion and relaxation under twinkling starlight. Most of them are a stone’s throw away from Siargao’s famed shoreline and, of course, waves. So unleash your inner outdoorsy at any of these campsites.
